WELCOME TO CAPE WINELANDS MODERN PENTATHLON
Modern Pentathlon is an Olympic sport and incorporates the sporting disciplines of Swimming, Fencing, Running, Shooting and Show Jumping.
Cape Winelands Modern Pentathlon is run by a committee of fellow members, we are a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) which makes no profit and is operating for the sole purpose of developing athletes in the province towards this Olympic sport.
The development sports of Modern Pentathlon offers a myriad of opportunities for athletes that perform due to its affiliation to the Cape Winelands and Western Cape Sports Councils, the Western Cape Modern Pentathlon Association (WCMPA), the South African Modern Pentathlon Association (SAMPA) latter who in turn is affiliated to the international Pentathlon body UIPM in France.

At the Western Cape Human Settlements budget vote speech on 26 March 2019, minister Bonginkosi Madikizela provided a summary of the the department’s plans for current and future housing projects in Cape Town and the rest of the Western Cape. Notably, this included plans for future mixed-income housing within Cape Town’s City Bowl.
These mixed development projects include houses for the indigent, gap housing, rental units, social housing and serviced stands, and total 144 798 new units. As well as providing housing for lower income groups, the province’s goal is also to ensure integration of different income groups within Cape Town.
